Harmony Portfolio courses offer individualized study while students learn grade level topics. Throughout the school year, students demonstrate their competence through compilation of a comprehensive portfolio. The portfolio should include the grade-level work that the student has worked on and should be saved throughout the year. The portfolio will be reviewed quarterly by a Harmony Teacher of Record.
Parents submit a weekly learning log/narrative that outlines the educational objectives that the student met during that calendar week. Learning log submissions will be due every Friday and fulfill the attendance requirement with our partner school.
A portfolio is submitted quarterly and will be reviewed by a Harmony teacher of record. The portfolio guidelines include:
5-8 portfolio items of student work per subject and should demonstrate student work over the course of at least 2 months.
Items need to show student work, and examples could include worksheets, reports, tests/quizzes, science projects, etc.
Portfolio items need to be grade-level work.
Each Harmony Portfolio course includes a Parent Handbook, includes a Utah standards alignment outline and a submission schedule for learning logs. The standards alignment outline below shows grade-level topics and can be a guide as you work with your child to compile their portfolio.
