Dear Harmony Families:

As we look forward to the 2023-24 school year, we want to let you know about some improvements and changes so that you know what to expect for the following school year.

First, here is updated information about some of our course offerings.

Flex Direct Courses
Flex Direct is an enhanced Flex program that provides teacher presentations that follow the Flex worksheet topics up to 4 times per week. The presentations are pre-recorded, so students can watch them on their own schedule and can rewatch if they choose. These videos will be available in each class at the beginning of the school year and for each semester.  There is no cost to use this program.

Elective Kits
The cost of Elective Kits has changed to $170 per kit (previously $165), due to price increases for books and other learning materials.

All other course costs, funding, etc. will remain the same for the 2023-24 school year.

Options Day Locations
We have seen increased interest in our on-site Options Day electives program and are pleased that students can meet together each week for elective courses. For 2023-24, we will continue to offer Options Day in Coeur d’Alene and Meridian.

Once students are enrolled in Options Day, they may attend the classes for up to 2 consecutive weeks (previously 4 weeks) from the start of Options Day without losing any funding if they withdraw from Options Day within that 2 week timeframe. If the student does withdraw from Options Day, parents will need to contact their mentor immediately for a refund of the Options Day cost and to choose elective(s) to meet school requirements.

In addition, we have made the following improvements to orientations and resource ordering.

Curriculum Orientation
We are pleased to let you know about improvements to the Curriculum Orientation. We have added information and a Frequently Asked Questions page to each of the following sections:

  • Portfolio, Odyssey, MobyMax, ALEKS, and Edmentum

This project is ongoing, and we will continue to add updated information to the other sections of the Curriculum Orientation. Be sure to take a look at the updates!

Supplemental Programs Now Included in Curriculum Orientation
Information about each of the 4 free supplemental programs that Harmony students receive is now included in the Curriculum Orientation. These programs include BrainPop, Reading Eggs, Spelling Stars, and Study Island. You can click on these links, and you’ll also find these sections on the second page of the Curriculum Orientation menu.

This information will be useful as you decide how to use these programs to meet your child’s educational needs.

List of Curriculum Resources
We have gathered a list of curriculum resources for core and elective subjects to help you get started as you consider curriculum options for Flex and Portfolio courses. These resources may also be used as supplements for any course. Student funding can be used to order these resources.

The curriculum resources list has been added to the following orientations. You will need to be logged into the parent dashboard in order to access this information.

Note: This is not a definitive list, and we will be adding to it from time to time. Also, you are not limited to selecting curriculum from this list.

Reimbursement Requests
Now you can upload multiple receipts to one reimbursement request form, rather than having to put all receipts into one document.

We have thoroughly enjoyed working with your family during the current school year and hope to see you in 2023-24..

Warm regards,

John Thorn, President
