These orders are placed in the Family Resource Center. To check on your student’s remaining funds, log into the Family Resource Center and going to Student Success Plan > View Submissions > View Resource Allocation Balance.
If you receive a “help ticket” for a resource order, please respond to the ticket so that we can complete your order. Help ticket information will be emailed to you. You may also place a help ticket if you are missing an item or if an item is damaged. To create or view your help tickets, log in to the Family Resource Center at Create A Ticket. Then go to Educational Resources and click on Submit Ticket or View My Tickets. If you have questions about your resources orders or tickets, please contact your mentor.
Course Progress for PLG or Flex Electives
Keep up on course pacing and timely submissions of PLG Learning Plans and also your PLG Submissions. Attendance is based on progress and completion of work within courses.
Students are able to retake quizzes and redo assignments in Odyssey to improve their grade. Remember, a large portion of your grade in Odyssey courses is based on keeping up with pacing! Odyssey Video Link
Flex Direct/Flex Elective Submission Information
For those with Flex Direct or Flex courses for Electives, Canvas is where you will submit the quiz or Flex worksheets and where those grading those assignments give feedback to the student. Here is the link for a tutorial video to upload your Flex assignments. You must be logged into the Family Resource Center to access this link.
- Please submit Flex Direct or Flex assignments in the earliest submission date open. The numbers on the submission dates do not correspond with the number on the worksheets.
- You can submit worksheets in any order, as long as you submit them following the Flex Direct or Flex submission dates.
- If you are behind on submissions, please get caught up as quickly as possible.
- If you have submitted worksheets under later submission dates and not under the most recent ones, please start submitting now to fill in the missing submission slots.
- If you wish to correct any missed questions, you will re-submit the corrected worksheet into the same module as the original worksheet.
The Flex Parent Guidebook has an answer key for parents to use to grade their own student’s worksheets. If you find that your student has missed questions, reteach them the material they missed, have them correct their work, then regrade the worksheet and submit it. You can write the score on the front of the worksheet for the Flex team to see. If there are any further issues with the submission, you can leave a note in Canvas. Checking the worksheets before turning them in can save a lot of time and frustration at having to correct and resubmit worksheets.
Late Policy Reminder
Your teacher will accept late work for up to five school days after the authentic or formative assessment is due. A 10% reduction in the grade will be applied for each day the assessment is late for up to five school days. After five school days the grade will be submitted as a zero.
IHLA Parent Handbook
If you have not received a copy of IHLA Parent Handbook, please reach out to your mentor and she will send it to you.
ISAT Practice Test
Below is a link for your students to practice and become familiar with the ISAT year-end test. Please be aware that this test has become very important to the school and the continuation of this amazing program. You can use this link to take a practice test that does not give you a score, but is great practice and a great way to familiarize your child with the ISAT. If you would like to try a practice ISAT test with a score, please contact Cheryse Hooste at 208-200-6245. We strongly encourage your students to do their best and as parents, please prepare them accordingly.
Monthly IRI Benchmark
iStation generates monthly on-demand benchmarks to monitor your child’s reading progress throughout the school year. The test will adapt monthly to their reading level and your mentor can provide more reports to show you how your child is progressing as they take these benchmarks.
To do the monthly benchmarks do the following:
- Go to www.clever.com.
- Log in with the username and password provided by your mentor.
- Once the student is logged into Clever, you will need to find the Istation icon, click on it, then you will be redirected to iStation. (Remember, the device that you are trying to access iStation on needs to have Istation downloaded)
- You will be automatically redirected to iStation. Now click on ISIP reading to take the monthly benchmark.
You are allowed to take one benchmark per month. If your student received a Tier 2 or 3 score on the Fall IRI, we especially encourage you to take these tests. If the monthly benchmarks are taken at the beginning of the month, your mentor can also assign on-demand assessments that will give your child even more practice in the particular areas of reading in which they are struggling.
Our General Education Teachers have office hours that you can login to a Zoom link and meet with your teacher face to face and ask questions each week! I have included their meeting links below that you can use each week.
