Dear Harmony/IHLA Families,
We would like to update you with some of the changes that are being made by IHLA. First, due to the state audit, IHLA is preparing a parent handbook that is anticipated to be coming out in the next few weeks. The handbook will level the playing field, as it will outline the process and standards for all PLG submissions and will apply to students of all program providers.
Second, reimbursements will no longer be available due to the State of Idaho now prohibiting any of IHLA’s providers to reimburse for any curriculum. We want to prepare you for this upfront, as this change applies to all students in IHLA, no matter which provider you are choosing to be with. Harmony will be ordering all curriculum and supportive materials for your students through our resource ordering system.
Third, we have updated the Flex program, and it is now called Flex Direct. These courses will use the worksheets that have been offered previously, and teachers will provide live, online instruction. Because of the teacher instruction, IHLA has approved Flex Direct to be offered to our students for the 2019-2020 school year. Below are details about the Flex Direct courses.
A new course that is taught by a certified teacher, based upon the Flex curriculum.
- Flex curriculum is taught weekly in live sessions by certified teachers.
- Direct instruction sessions are recorded for review or for students who are unable to attend the live session.
- Flex worksheets or scores are submitted every two weeks.
