Dear Garfield County / Harmony Parents,

We want to let you know about a new Homeroom course for the 2022-23 school year. The Homeroom course is being added to enable Harmony and Garfield County to track student attendance each week.

The Homeroom course will be hosted in Harmony’s Canvas account. This means that students who have Flex and Portfolio courses will receive one Canvas account for their core and/or elective courses, as well as the Homeroom course. The Homeroom course will replace the weekly learning logs for Portfolio courses.

Students who are taking only online courses (such as MobyMax, DreamBox) will also receive a Canvas Homeroom course from Harmony for the Homeroom course.

Here’s how attendance will work for 2022-23.

  • All Garfield County students will receive a Homeroom course in Canvas for weekly attendance. You will receive an email from Harmony with more information and your child’s login.
  • Harmony will post a “question of the week,” and your child will go into their Homeroom course to respond to the question each week.
  • Questions will be posted each Friday, and students will have a week (through the following Thursday) to respond.
  • There is no cost for the Homeroom / Attendance course.

Following this attendance procedure is an important part of your child’s enrollment with Garfield County School District. It is vital that your child answers the homeroom question each week.

If you have any questions about this change, please contact your mentor.

Sincerely,

Harmony Educational Services
