Message From Our President
Dear Harmony Families,

As another school year draws to a close, the Harmony team wants to thank you for letting us be a part of your student’s education.  We have enjoyed being able to assist you in your family’s educational pursuits.

Please know that over the summer months, Harmony will continue to focus on implementing improvements in the spirit of trying to match your needs.  We hope to enhance your student’s experience by making our processes easier, more effective, and more efficient.

As a reminder, your student’s mentor is your student/family’s main point of contact for any, and all questions or concerns. We hope you have a great summer and look forward to working with you again next year!

Onward and Upward,
John Thorn
President

8th Grade Students
Wasatch Learning Academy only goes up to 8th grade. If you have an 8th-grade student, they will automatically be accepted into Iron County School District and will be able to continue on enrolled with them.

Important: Wasatch Homeroom / Attendance
Be sure to have your child respond to the weekly discussion post in the Wasatch Homeroom in Canvas. The question is posted each Friday, and you have until the following Friday to answer the question. Doing so provides Wasatch Learning Academy with a weekly “attendance log” and helps them to have a connection with students. This is an important part of your child’s enrollment with WLA.

If you have any questions about the weekly Homeroom question, please contact your mentor.

Re-enrollment 2024-25
Exciting news! For those who have already confirmed re-enrollment or enrolled as a new student for 2024-25 school year, course selection is now available!

If you have not completed the re-enrollment process for the 2024-25 school year, please do so soon to make sure your students are all set. If you have a new student or have friends who want to register for Harmony, they can do so on our website at harmonyed.com/parent-account/.

Flex Submission Dates
Here are the Flex Direct and Flex Independent submission dates for 4th quarter. Be sure to submit your student’s worksheets on time so that our graders can have time to grade them and we can record your students’ progress.

4th Quarter Submission
May 17 – (Kindergarten – Language Arts, Math)

To find helpful information about Flex Direct or Flex Independent courses, log into the Family Resource Center and go to the Curriculum Orientation. From the sidebar menu in the Flex Direct and Flex Independent sections, you’ll find FAQs, which include submission instructions and a submission video.

Portfolio Submissions for 4th Quarter
For Harmony Portfolio courses, the 4th quarter portfolio submission due date was May 3rd. Be sure to get those submissions in so that the graders will have time to review them. If you have questions about submissions, please contact your mentor for instructions.

The guidelines for portfolios are as follows:

  • 5-8 portfolio items per core subject (math, language arts, science).
  • 1 portfolio item per elective for elementary students.
  • 1-2 portfolio items per elective for middle school students.
  • Items need to show student work, and examples could include worksheets, reports, tests/quizzes, science projects, etc.  Remember that portfolio items need to be the student’s actual work, not a learning log or description of what the student has been doing.
  • Portfolio items need to be grade-level work.
  • Portfolio items need to demonstrate student work over the course of 2 months.

Resource Orders
Resource ordering is closed, however reimbursements will be open until the end of May. Don’t wait until the last minute to send in your reimbursement receipts, all receipts need to be submitted by May 31st to be reimbursed.
