For the 2025–26 school year, IHLA students are being provided Flex Direct as a free curriculum for each student! You will find these courses within Canvas. Please feel free to use this curriculum as it best fits your needs.
🛑 Please note: While your login is now active, your free Flex Direct course content will not be available until Wednesday, August 20th. We appreciate your patience as we work to get this improved curriculum out to you. You can still log in and explore the platform now.
- To be on track for the first flex submission on September 5th, you will want to begin the first module by August 25th.

Username: Your FRC ID
Password: First Initial (uppercase) + Last Initial (uppercase) + student + 25
Example:
Sample Student Name: Christopher Johnson
FRC ID: UT167340

❓ What Should I Do Now?
You can log into Canvas and begin exploring the platform. Take some time to browse around and get comfortable with the layout, menus, and features. This will help you feel confident navigating once your Flex Direct course is available.

By familiarizing yourself now, you’ll be ready to jump right into your course as soon as it opens.
📝 How Flex Direct Works
- If you are using Flex Direct as your reporting curriculum, you will complete and submit the worksheets within Canvas according to the submission schedule.
- If you are using Flex Direct only as an additional resource, your reporting will still occur through the course/vendor you selected during registration (e.g., IHLA Portfolio, MobyMax, ALEKS, Odyssey, etc.).
- In this case, you will not submit worksheets or quizzes in the Flex Direct course.
- However, if you are in a Portfolio course, you may submit a Flex worksheet as part of your evidence of work — but it should be submitted in your Portfolio course, not the Flex course.
- When used as a resource, please disregard any due dates listed in the Flex platform.
🌟 Improved Flex Direct Courses – Additional Learning Opportunities
Flex Direct courses have been updated this year to include additional learning opportunities.
- These activities are available to all students as extra opportunities for practice and growth.
- If you are using Flex Direct as your primary curriculum, your student should complete all learning activities along with the worksheets.
- If you are using Flex Direct as a supplement, you may choose which activities best support your student’s learning needs.
📂 Accessing Flex Worksheets
- Log in to Canvas and open your Flex Direct course.
- Click Modules in the course menu.
- Open the Harmony Worksheet Information page and read the disclosure statement.
- Once you click “Mark as Done”, all worksheet PDFs and ZIP files will be unlocked for your personal use.
✨ Hiding Courses – Simplifying your Student Dashboard in Canvas
If you would like to hide the additional free Flex Direct courses from your Dashboard:
- Click the Courses icon.
- Select All Courses at the bottom of the list.
- Click the star next to the courses you want visible on your Dashboard.
Canvas Student App
Canvas also has a student app for most mobile devices.
- Download the Canvas Student App.
- Select HarmonyEd as your school.
- Log in using the credentials above.
You’ll then be able to access most of the same Canvas features from your phone or tablet.
📘 Special Note for Middle School Students (6th–8th Grades)
You have been provided one Science and one Social Studies course.
🧪 Science Options: Physical Science, Life Science, Earth Science
🌍 Social Studies Options: Eastern Hemisphere, Western Hemisphere, World History
➡️ If the courses you received do not match what you are teaching this year, please contact your mentor to request a different Science or Social Studies option.
