Calendars
A great place to stay up-to-date on important dates is the calendar found on the parent dashboard. Here you’ll find information such as Flex submission dates, testing dates, school dates, etc.

Family Focus Fridays
Guiding Families with Proven Strategies and Insights!
Join us for our interactive Family Focus Fridays sessions designed to support and empower parents in the homeschooling journey. In these trainings, we’ll explore the effective use of curriculum offered by Harmony, to create a positive and enriching learning environment at home.

Important: Peak Homeroom / Attendance
Be sure to have your child respond to the weekly discussion post in the Utah Peak Academy Homeroom in Canvas. The questions are posted each Friday, and you have until the following Friday to answer them. Responding each week provides the UPA with a weekly “attendance log” and helps them have a connection with students. This is an important part of your child’s attendance with the UPA.
If you have any questions about the weekly Homeroom questions, please contact your mentor.
Flex Information
To find helpful information about Flex Direct or Flex Independent courses, log into the Family Resource Center and go to the Curriculum Orientation. From the sidebar menu in the Flex Direct and Flex Independent sections, you will find FAQs, which include submission instructions and a submission video.
Portfolio Submissions for 3rd Quarter
January 31st – 3rd Quarter Portfolio Submission
The guidelines for portfolios are as follows:
- 5-8 portfolio items per subject.
- Items need to show student work, and examples could include worksheets, reports, tests/quizzes, science projects, etc. Remember that portfolio items need to be the student’s actual work, not a learning log or description of what the student has been doing.
- Portfolio items need to be grade-level work.
- Portfolio items need to demonstrate student work over the course of 2 months.
Social Shenanigans
If you have not attended Social Shenanigans, you are missing out! It is an opportunity for the students of UPA to socialize with each other and the staff of UPA in a virtual meeting filled with engaging, fun activities. We want to schedule each monthly meeting at a consistent time that you can count on and plan for. We have been doing it on the 4th Thursday of each month at noon but would like your input to help find a time that would work better for more families so the potential for socializing is even better.

Monthly Newsletter from Utah Peak Academy Teacher
The monthly newsletter includes dates to remember for the month, news about upcoming school activities, important life skills, and fun activities to engage the students. It will be updated the first week of each month.
The link is the same each month. I just add a new page for each month.
SORA Information
Utah Peak is offering all Utah Peak students the opportunity to have a SORA login from the school district. This will allow you to check out online books. Utah Peak/Piute County School District will be having a competition for all students who are enrolled in Utah Peak. Please see the flier listed below:

Possible Resources
At Harmony, we are always excited about the resources we can offer to students to help with their education. You will want to order your curriculum and technology first, and use remaining funds for a variety of things to help your student learn. We have included a few fun ideas and examples of how you could use the funds we provide for your student. Most items have price limits so if you are wondering about them please ask your mentor.

Resource Order
Ordering is back open for 2nd semester it will open until January 31st. All orders will be processed within 14 business days, but we can’t guarantee any items will arrive by Christmas. For all the ordering categories, except reimbursement, you can submit one order per semester per student.
